the Pudu are in the same family as deer, and they are the smallest. They are only 13-17 inches at the shoulder. and 33 inches in length. The heaviest pudu ever recorde was 30 lbs, but their average s about 26 lbs in weight. The pudú inhabits temperate rainforest in South America, where the dense underbrush and bamboo offers protection from predators. The climate of the pudú's habitat mainly two seasons: a damp, moderate winter and an arid summer. Yearly precipitation in these areas of Argentina and Chile ranges from 2 to 4 meters
